The Sam Basdeo Learning Resource Centre opened its doors on October 11, 1996 and acts as a centre for study and research and the intellectual heart of the institution with access to the World Wide Web.

Collections

The library houses a collection of over 18,000 volumes of books, media, and periodicals including books, videos and DVDs. The fiction section boasts items from the Oprah Book Club including authors such as Maya Angelou. 

The library has particularly strong collections in the areas of business management, building trades, engineering, hospitality management, economics and financial services. There are over 1000 journal titles represented on web-based databases hosted by Elton B. Stephens Company (EBSCO). Journal titles include Harvard Business Review, Popular Science, Time, Newsweek, PC Magazine and Journal of Marketing.

Faculty and students as well as community members are encouraged to make use of the services offered. Students are required to present a current ID card to avail themselves of services in the Library.

Student Membership

Students enroled in programmes at UCCI receive borrowing privileges at the library through the use of a student ID.

Public Membership

Non-students may apply to become community members who are entitled to the full use of the library's collection and facilities.

The library provides a host of services such as printing, copying and more.
