The position works collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to design, develop, implement and provide reports on institutional, academic, co-curricular and administrative assessment. The Director of Accreditation and Institutional Reporting will be a champion for data-informed decision-making, institutional planning and policy formation. The Director of Accreditation and Institutional Reporting will also provide a leadership role in university wide efforts for assessment, accreditation, strategic planning, academic programmatic success, and retention. The Director designs and manages systems that provide quantitative and qualitative research analysis in support of these and other University initiatives. The Director is responsible for completing and effectively disseminating institutional and Ministry accreditation related mandated reports. The Director plays an important role in promoting a culture that relies upon data to assess the effectiveness of all programs, services, and processes as well as the university's overall progress in reaching its strategic goals. To that end, the Director should be adept at telling stories with data and using data for visualization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Master's degree required in a research-related field, such as statistics, social science, or data analytics, or an equivalent combination of academic degree achievement and professional knowledge.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in higher education research, data management and data analysis.
- Position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, as well as demonstrated business analysis, systems data modelling, analytic and consultative, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current higher education issues, assessment and accreditation.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis and research.
- Proficient in business intelligence and data visualization tools and methodologies such as Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, Qualtrics and Google Analytics.
- Proficient in advanced concepts of Microsoft Excel and other Office suite products to increase efficiency/turnaround of data requests.
- Knowledge of higher education accreditation standards and processes.
- Knowledge of best practices in the higher education academic assessment community.
- Knowledge of accreditation requirements for higher education; major issues and trends in adult higher education, teaching and adult learning.
- Skills in quantitative data management and advanced statistical analysis
- Skills in qualitative data collection and analysis techniques including focus group interviews and survey design;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to promote effective collaboration;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain assessment processes and outcomes that is easy to understand by non-specialists.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks without direct supervision.
- Ability to coordinate institutional planning in support of accreditation processes.
- Experience with developing/writing accreditation standards.
- A working knowledge of accreditation/assessment software.
Accountabilities Specific to the Role
- Accreditation and Institutional Research
- Ensures the maintenance of such accreditations as IACBE, ASIC and Joint Board Teacher Education (JBTE);
- Galvanizes resources and leads the effort to gain SACS Institutional accreditation;
- Provides leadership on accreditation and continuous improvement efforts to maintain accreditations;
- Provides coordination and technical expertise to Deans, Programme Directors and Faculty relevant to accreditation;
- Leads efforts at programme evaluations to prepare self-study, gather supporting evidence, and make programme improvements to meet expected standards of accreditation;
- Monitors changes to standards and policies of relevant accreditation agencies;
- Establishes an Accreditation Committee;
- Collects and analyzes data relevant to accreditation requirements;
- Conducts educational seminars and media appearances to inform the public of UCCI's accreditation efforts and successes;
- Manages and coordinates regional, US and specialized accreditation team visits;
- Supports and advances the UCCI strategic plan and performs other assigned duties.
- Liaises with Deans and Programme Directors to collect data that relates to outcomes.
- Exercises oversight and participates in other measures of academic quality control.
Compensation:
Salary Range: KYD $87,444 to $114,768 per annum (GRADE H)
Contributory medical, pension and annual leave (20 days).
