Ms. Kong joined the UCCI team as Library Assistant in 2004, assuming the post of Director in 2007. Her background in information acquisition, retrieval and knowledge of patron needs aid in the expansion of UCCI's course offerings. In her capacity, she works closely with students, faculty and the wider community in facilitating access to information. This involves the selection of library resources and acquisitions for the library and UCCI's bookstore. As an advocate of lifelong learning, her endeavor is to facilitate all, to explore, learn and energize.
Ms. Kong brings several years of professional experience to her role as Director. During her three years as Library Assistant she honed her skills in cataloging, information retrieval and assisting students in evaluating information. Ms. Kong has a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours from the University of the West Indies and a Master's degree in Information and Library Studies from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. She is also a member of the Special Libraries Association (SLA). Her academic interest is in Information Seeking Behaviour, especially as it relates to electronic sources of information.
