Karen Jones joined the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing in 2016. Prior to coming to UCCI, she was a Lecturer at the University of Technology, Jamaica.

Karen received her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Technology, Jamaica. She also attended the University Hospital School of Nursing now known as the University of the West Indies School of Nursing where she was awarded a certificate and subsequently licensed as a Registered General Nurse. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Career Development, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Training and Post Basic Certifications in Operating Room Techniques and Psychiatric Nursing.

Aside from her many years of experience in clinical nursing practice, she also worked in the area of clinical research. Her primary research interest is in the field of public health with a focus on health education and adolescent health. In her free time, she swims, crochets, and does community service.
