Emerald Mohammed hails from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and has lived in Grand Cayman for the past 24 years. He has been teaching for 43 years, in Trinidad, the Turks & Caicos Islands and Grand Cayman.

Mr. Mohammed successfully pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics/ Mathematics from the University of the West Indies and an MBA in Education from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.

He was instrumental in the formation of the Mathematics Association of the Cayman Islands and served as President for eight Years. He was also an Advisor for the Kiwanis Key Club for a similar period. In addition, he served as an Adjunct Lecturer at UCCI since 1989.

Some of the activities he enjoys are Chess, Darts, Cricket and Gardening. On a social note I have functioned in the capacity of President, Manager and Coach in the Cayman Islands' Darts Association.

The center of Mr. Mohammed's teaching philosophy is active learning, composed of two necessary and related elements: knowledge of the content and ability to communicate it. He aspires to use the experience he has gained to facilitate teaching and learning in this institution.
