Overview

For January 2020, the Computer Science and Engineering Department invites applications from qualified individuals, for a Senior Lecturer or Assistant Professor position in Computer Science having expertise in teaching at the tertiary level and be able to teach the following courses:

  • Networking Fundamentals
  • Database Administrations & Implementation
  • Network Security
  • Enterprise Networks

The successful candidate must be able to teach a diverse set of introductory and upper-division computer science courses at the Associate/Bachelor level, demonstrate an interest in developing Forensic and Cyber Security courses/programmes and be passionate about incorporating an active learning model to the classroom and be able to develop a successful retention program. A M.S. in Computer Science or closely related field and at least two years teaching experience is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. A minimum of eighteen credits hours of computer science courses is required for candidates without a master’s in computer science.  Rank at an appointment will depend upon qualifications and experience. An official or unofficial transcript must be submitted with the application.

Related industrial experience would be considered an asset. The candidate must also demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions. Also, the candidate should possess excellent English language skills, demonstrating an ability to ensure strong, two-way communications on an ongoing basis that contribute to collaborative/collegial relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.

The CSED offers Associate and Bachelor programs in Computer Science and Associate programs in Engineering Technology (with specializations in Electrical, Civil and Mechanical).

Compensation

  • 2-year contract, pension, medical, annual leave
  • Senior Lecturer CI$53,789—$72,085 (USD$65,596—$87,908) per annum
  • Assistant Professor CI$58,540—$78,737 (USD $71,390—$96,020) per annum
