Job Description

Reporting to the Board of Governors the Director of Policy Development and Implementation is required to spearhead the development and implementation of a robust policy framework to meet organizational compliance of all staff members and functions with respect to relevant laws and guidelines.

Requirements of Job

Provide strategic input to key stakeholders regarding the design of policies and procedures related to legislative and ethical standards affecting UCCI staff. Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive program aimed at providing assurance to Senior Management and the Board of Governors.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as business administration, accounting, law or finance.
  • A professional designation or related experience.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years in a related function.
  • Proven experience at a senior management level.
  • Proven experience managing process documentation, identifying and assessing areas for continual improvement.
  • Proven experience in the provision of assurance to Senior Management and Governance bodies.
  • Proven experience in policy development, implementation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert in all matters relating to policy development.
  • Engage with an evolving team of experts drawn from across UCCI related to all aspects of developing, implementing and monitoring a policy framework.
  • Work in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure that a comprehensive policy and procedural framework exists for all applicable laws, regulations and standards affecting UCCI.
  • Provide strategic guidance and input on the development and maintenance of effective training sessions on ethics and assurance procedures.
  • Design and conduct risk assessments aimed at the identification of potential areas of policy violations.
  • Investigate potential violations of laws or regulations and recommend appropriate corrective action to the Board of Governors.
  • Serve as a liaison to regulatory and external assurance providers.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to the Board of Governors.
  • Maintain records of assurance activities.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective action plans arising from external assurance providers and provide guidance and advice as requested.
  • Design and report to the Board of Governorsassurance activity acrossUCCI in relation to the policy framework.
  • Develop in collaboration with key stakeholders all elements required to complete a sound policy framework.
  • Regularly evaluate the policy framework with the aim of continuous improvement.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with all departments to establish a culture of assurance.
  • Design and implement methods for avoiding potential areas of vulnerability.

Compensation

  • KYD $103,476 to $139,164 per annum. (Grade F)
  • Medical, pension and annual leave (25 days)
