I am delighted to welcome you to the Business Studies Department at The University College of the Cayman Islands. Our department endeavors to provide the best business educational opportunities to our students and the wider society through market-driven course development, technology-driven teaching, effective community interaction, community service, and conducting pertinent research. For this reason, the goals and objectives of the department are focused on promoting academic excellence through institutional commitment, teaching and learning, service and research. With the support of our partners, we strive to prepare graduates who are innovative, flexible, entrepreneurial, business-functional, and adaptable to the ever-changing environment.
The department offers diverse programmes in business administration, management, and accounting at the Bachelor’s and Associate’s degree levels. Our offerings also include a minor in Human Resources Management and concentrations in Management and Accounting. The department remains relevant to the Cayman Islands community and businesses by delivering innovative programmes such as the Cayman Islands Banking Certificate (CBC); Business-in-Action Experiential Learning; and partnering with industry to deliver workshops and seminars on local, regional and global issues.
Our department is unique in that it prepares our accounting students for various components of the Uniform CPA exam and also to compete at the annual Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute Research Challenge. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in an International Practicum and many have travelled to various countries in the region where they have gained holistic learning experiences. The department continues to create new ways of learning and has entered an ongoing joint agreement with Cayman Islands Department of Commerce and Investment to engage students from the Small Business and Entrepreneurship classes as volunteer consultants for local entrepreneurs.

Our faculty members are exemplary, having academic and professional qualifications and a wealth of practical experience in their subject areas.
Students receiv individualised attention and are mentored by assigned business faculty advisors.
Students are encouraged to make a difference in the University College and community, taking on leadership roles in the university’s clubs and societies and participating in the university events such as TEDxUCCI, convocation ceremonies and expositions.
The department allows students to participate in independent studies that allow flexibility and help to build research skills.
Our industry partnerships allow for collaboration with faculty and provide students with real-world experience and the opportunity to apply their knowledge in their fields of study.
Lenexa, Kansas, USA (April 2017) – The Board of Commissioners of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) is pleased to announce that, at its meeting in San Francisco, California, USA on 22-23 April 2017, the University College of the Cayman Islands in Grand Cayman was granted first- time accreditation of the business and management programmes offered through its Department of Business Studies.
The Department of Business Studies at the University of the Cayman Islands has undertaken a rigorous self-evaluation and has undergone a comprehensive, independent peer review for the following degree programmes:
Associate of Arts (AA) in Business Administration Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees:

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration degrees:
