The Resilience, Sustainable Energy, and Marine Biodiversity (RESEMBID) Programme manages a 47-project portfolio funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France - the development cooperation agency of the Government of France and supports sustainable human development efforts in 12 Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) - Aruba, Anguilla, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Montserrat, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Saint Barthélemy, Sint Maarten and Turks and Caicos.

UCCI offered free year-long sustainable trades training for unemployed and underemployed Caymanians, thanks to a €432,000 grant from the EU RESEMBID Programme. This empowered fifty individuals for employment/self-employment in key sectors, fostering enduring sustainability. Eligible participants, aged 18-45, received full training, tools, and equipment at no cost.
