Ms. Smellie joined UCCI in 2004 as an Information Officer. She currently holds the post of Executive Assistant to the President and also serves as a course facilitator in the Continuing Eduaction and Professional Development Department.

Ms. Smellie received a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in English Language and Literature from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) in 2004. Throughout her time at UWO, she served as a member of the Caribbean Students Association (CSO) and the Black Students Association (BSA). These organisations afforded her the opportunity to serve as an English tutor and mentor to high school students within the community.

Before her time at UWO, she attended Trinity College School (TCS) in Canada for two years where she obtained seven Ontario Academic Credits. During her time at TCS, Ms. Smellie served as an Admissions Steward and was activly involved in planning events promoting Caribbean culture within the school community.
