Mr. Smith joined the UCCI team as Lecturer in 2007. His background in competency based education and knowledge of electrical practices in the Cayman Islands aids in the creating and delivery of UCCI’s course offerings. In his capacity, he facilitates the development and delivery of student centered training in the department of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.

He comes to the Cayman Islands from HEART Trust/NTA where he worked as senior instructor in the field of electrical and electronics. His responsibilities included lecturing courses to students at HEART Trust/NTA and University of Technology in Jamaica as well as supervising instructors in the mechanical and electrical department. He was also instrumental in creating learner guides for the HEART Trust/NTA. Mr. Smith worked as an electrical technician at Mega System Ltd. for five years, taking special interest in Industrial Electronics and Installation.

Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Technology in Jamaica where he was awarded a diploma in the field of Electrical engineering in 1998 and Bachelors of Engineering Degree in 2003. He also wrote for the Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 2005 to 2006 (thesis pending).
